Making a difference, that's what it's all about. Having volunteer help is not a luxury for us ... it is a necessity! We hope that you will consider sharing a part of your time and talents with the individuals
Safe Homes serves.
Volunteer Opportunities
Shelter Aides: tasks such as yard work, building maintenance, sorting donations,
playing with the children, client transportation or grocery shopping.

A team from The Home Depot spent a busy day at the
shelter doing much needed landscaping and repairs.
Crisis Intervention:
support services, children's support group
assistant, legal advocacy, resource support or bi-lingual interpretation.
Administrative: answer telephones, newsletter mailing, donation follow-up, computer technical assistance or general office support.
Community Outreach: assist at community events, give presentations, network with other community agencies.
Become part of the solution as we work together to end domestic violence in our community. For more information on specific needs we have, please call the volunteer coordinator, (706) 736-2499.
Contact Lisa Gregor, Volunteer Coordinator for more information.
Applicants interested in working directly with clients or their children
will be required to attend a 10-hour training before beginning service.
All volunteer applicants are required to attend a 4-hour orientation and
one in-service training per year.
